synopsis of the project: picturisation of a conjointly screenplay, written by german, polish and namibian learners and students. prehistory: The media workinggroup in the Schillergymnasium, that works close together with her partnergroup in Katowice/Poland was founded more than six years ago. Since 2004 the german group organises continously studentmeetings in the partnerschool of the Schillergymnasium, the farmschool Baumgartsbrunn in Namibia. So far the german students have been working on filmreports during their stays in Namibia. In 2006 for the first time they worked on a theaterplay, that has been planed and picturised by german and namibian students together. the idea:In early 2006 we had the idea to picturise together with the namibian learners a story, that is based on a polish childrens’ book: „ About those two who want to steal the moon“ The book tells about two boys that are well-known scallywags in their village. They spend their most time in the village by playing tricks. One day they have the idea to steal the moon, from which they think that it’s made of silver which will make them never have to work again. The two boys sett off to the hills - behind those they see the moon disappearing every night, so this is the place where they expect the moon to lie during daytime. On their „way to the moon” the two boys experience a lot of different adventures, that are always a bit painful and at the same time instructive for them. At the end the two of them regret that they ran away and return to their village as "good and honest" boys. Preparing the project : Although the proposal of the story is based on the polish children’s book, the main plot will be rewritten in our own screenplay. Merely some general traits of the polish story and the story which forms the framework will last in our film. The farmschool Baumgartsbrunn in Namibia is notably suited for the location of the play. There the moon indeed disappears behind the hills. German, polish and namibian students work together on the screenplay. Therefore a start could be made during the summer-mediaseminar of the german and polish media workingroups in july in Katowice. The namibian learners and teachers are integrated in the project via an extracuricular workinggroup formed by two teachers of the school. Furthermore the other prearrangements for the project are done in a special arranged forum on our website. At the end the film itself shall be realised in the local language Khoekhoegowab. realisation of the project: The filmproject shall be realised in line with the visit of german and polish students in april 2007 in Baumgartsbrunn. The central element of the project will be the cooperated work of german, polish and namibian learners and students. Thereby the namibian learners will benefit from the technical know-how that german and polish students could already gain during their work in the mediagroups. At the same time the european students study further by the realisation of a filmproject in a foreign environment. By the corporated work with the namibian learners and by local workshops the european juveniles learn about the foreign culture ( Khoekhoegowab language, namibian myths and tales…) During the realisation of the film there will also be emerged a second project: a group of students will be working on a making of film, that documents the international youth work.
